About Me

I’m a Youth Services Librarian based in Cleveland, Ohio. I love working with all ages, but especially teens and preschoolers.  After over 8 years at Cleveland Public Library the need to relocate led to the once in a lifetime chance to stay home for my daughter’s early years.

I love being a librarian too much to stay away so I’ve kept myself busy with committee work, blogging, reviewing for School Library Journal and the Think Outside the Stacks Newsletter that went out to hundreds of librarians.

I am especially interested in creative programming, readers’ advisory, and most of all combining the two for programs like Book Speed Dating and 30 Books in 30 minutes. I presented on that at the YALSA Symposium in Portland. Those slides and resources are here.

I had the honor of serving on the 2012 Printz Committee.

and the 2015 Margaret A. Edwards Award Committee

When I’m not working, reading, or parenting I enjoy knitting, stitching, and other crafts as well as participating in various fandoms
